David is the oldest of two sons born to Texas native Harvey Hodnett and Georgia born Willa Dean Pye Hodnett. Willa Dean died in 1951 when David was twelve and a half months old. David and infant brother Don were blessed with another mom the following year when his dad married Margaret Light.
David was born and raised in Texas and came of age in Arkansas. It was there that he married his sweetheart Connie Sue Paxton and had their daughter Mary. David loved to fish and enjoyed the outdoors. He suffered with kidney failure and spent years of his life on kidney dialysis.
Widowed in 2002, David was also predeceased by his beautiful grandson Tyler Martin. He was survived by his daughter Mary, two grandchildren, his mother Margaret and three brothers.
