Gladys Harris, 92 of Avoca died Friday, March 10, 2006 at Bloomfield Manor in Dodgeville. She was born December 24, 1913 in Ridgeway the daughter of Carl and Beulah (Chatt) Olson.

On November 26, 1935 Gladys married John Harris in Barneveld, and he preceded her in death on November 28, 1994. Gladys was an active member of the Avoca United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, cooking, and playing cards. Gladys and John spent many hours fishing, camping, and traveling together. Gladys's real pride and joy was the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gladys is survived by three children, Sharlene (George) Ramsden of Avoca, Joan Adams of Muscoda, Jack (Luann) Harris of Avoca, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Dean (Bernadine) Olson of Monfort, Burnett (June) Olson of Elmira, NY, sister Ruby Vivian of Dodgeville, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, son Tom, granddaughter Tonya Beuchner, sister Alice Olson, and brother Norman Olson.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Avoca United Methodist Church with Pastor Harriett Rowland officiating Burial was held at the Avoca Cemetery.

Friends called on Sunday, March 12, 2006 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Godager Funeral Home in Muscoda, or at the Avoca United Methodist Church on Monday, March 13, 2006 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

The Godager Funeral Home of Muscoda is assisting the family with their arrangements.
