Alton Fletcher Babb, 86, widower of Sarah Caroline Pitts Babb, of 1612 Holiday Dam Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at his residence.
Born in Laurens County, he was the son of the late Martin and Maude Chapman Babb. He was a member of Dry Oak Assembly of God and was a retired farmer and textile operator. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are a son, Jerry Babb of Belton; daughters, Joann Staton and Cathy Tate, both of Anderson, and Rita Phillips, Betty King and Shirley Keaton, all of Belton; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers; and 10 sisters.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Dry Oak Assembly of God Chapel, with the Rev. Ernest Oliver and the Rev. Charles Heatherly officiating. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Cox Funeral Home.
Flowers are optional, or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
