CASPIAN-Arthur H. Nelson, 78, of 536 First, died Jan. 21 at Marquette General Hospital.
He was born July 3, 1919 in Iron River. The son of the late Iver and Bertha (Segerson) Nelson attended the Iron River schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran. On Feb. 18, 1947 he married the former Violet Fittante at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Caspian. The couple made their home in Caspian. They owned and operated Nelson Floor Covering in Caspian for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was preceded in death by a sister Mildred Ropiak.
He is survived by his wife; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at Stambaugh Cemetery and will be announced by Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.

Burial will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.
