James Julius Lee, 82, of North Syracuse, died Saturday at the Veterans Medical Center, Syracuse. He was born in Hopewell, Virginia, to the late Eva Butler and James Molten Lee and had lived since 1962 in North Syracuse, NY. Mr. Lee retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1970 and had previously served in the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of VFW Post 7290. In 1990 he retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He loved sports, particularly the Yankees and the Giants. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, the former Nina Joan Heenan; six brothers and sisters, Lois Perry, Janet Philyaw, Wilber Lee, Betty Lamm, Vernon Lee and Jerry Lee; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, where military honors will be bestowed. Donations may be made to the Hospice Wing of the CLC (8th floor), VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13210.
