Anna V. Riney, age 86 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 4:50 A.M. Wednesday September 10, 2008 in the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst. She was born February 23, 1922 in Mediapolis, Iowa, the daughter of Cleve and Amy Watson Pugh. On July 3, 1943, she married James L. Riney in St. Patrick, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1988.
Mrs. Riney had worked in the housekeeping department of St. Joseph's Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa for several years.
Survivors include one son - Stephen Riney of Carthage, Illinois, two daughters - Amy (Jens) Notestein of Stronghurst, IL., Mary Ann (Ron) Martens of Warsaw, IL., nine grandchildren, one step grandson, eleven great grandchildren, and one brother - John (Marg) Pugh of Clarinda, Iowa. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers - "Zen", Jim, and Vern Pugh and four sisters - Opal Troll, Lois Warth, Midgey Pugh, and Esther Nelson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday September 13, 2008 in the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst with Rev. Ron Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery, St. Patrick, Missouri. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services. A memorial fund had been established for Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst.
