Our beloved LaVon Kay Harward, 87, returned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at his home in American Fork, Utah.
He was born on Thursday, June 30, 1921 in Aurora, Utah to Ozias Harvey and Montez Bell Harward. He married LaVon Williamson on November 1, 1938 in Farmington. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on November 1, 1939. He worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance for 32 years. He was active in the LDS Church serving as a Bishop. He loved his roses and was a master gardner.
He was survived by his wife, four sons and a daughter, Leland Kay Harward, Stephen R. (Jane); Dennis E. (Diana); Jason P. (Barbara); JoEllen Martin (Jim); 24 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffery Harward and three siblings.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the American Fork Fourth Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 455 East 300 North in American Fork. Family and Friends attended a viewing on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary located at 49 East 100 North in American Fork and on Tuesday at the Church from 9:45 until 10:45 AM prior to the services.
LaVon was laid to rest following the conclusion of the Funeral Services at the American Fork City Cemetery in American Fork.
