Dorothy I. (Feis) Benker Asmus, 96, of Regency Retirement Residence of Hastings, died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at her home. Dorothy was born April 7, 1912 in Bladen, Nebraska to Henry & Mattie (Loudy) Feis.
Dorothy graduated from Bladen High School and married Eldon Benker on September 17, 1931. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1988. She was director of Industrial Therapy at Hastings Regional Center for 42 years. On September 16, 1990, she married Dale Asmus. She was a life long area resident and a member of First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in various church organizations as well as the Presbyterian Women. She was also a member of D.O.E.S. Dorothy was a most loving and caring, wife, mother and grandmother that will be missed by all her family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by: parents; first husband, Eldon Benker; sisters, Betty Paymal, Melva Sorenson, Hazel Reed and Lula Kral; brothers, Bud Feis, Dick Feis and stepson, Keith Asmus.
