BLOOMER - Stephen M. Hanson, age 61, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, in Maple Grove, Minn.
He was born July 7, 1947, in Rhinelander, Wis., to Walter and Ludmilla "Lydia" (Chesna) Hanson. He graduated from Regis High School in 1965 and attended UW-Eau Claire. He married Vicki Bremer on Nov. 15, 1969, in Webster, Wis.. Steve owned Willie's RV Center in Bloomer, working together with his family every day. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, the Bloomer Chamber of Commerce and the Bloomer Rod and Gun Club. Steve enjoyed playing softball, bowling, collecting cars, collecting vinyl music and simply enjoyed life in general, being with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki of Bloomer; one son, Carl Hanson of Bloomer; one daughter, Lori Hanson of Bloomer; one granddaughter, Lydia Breezee; two brothers, Sergius (Debbie) Hanson of Littleton, Colo., Greg "Larz" (Chris) Hanson of Eau Claire; two sisters, Margaret (DeWayne) Derksen of St. James, Minn., Mary Beth Hanson of Eden Prairie, Minn.; eight nieces and nephews, Craig (Stacie) Hebert, Christian (Brad Juaire) Hebert, Lynnette (Craig Brandt) Hebert, Kendall Hanson, Spencer Hanson, Amanda (Brad) Bartels, Tori Hanson and Nicole Hanson; very special in-laws, Lawrence and Edna Bremer of Bloomer; numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Charles Rock; and one niece, Kelsey Hanson.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bloomer with the Rev. James Arthur officiating. Interment will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursday at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer where there will be a Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m.
