through the mountains Mother reached up on the rocks to pick some berries to eat a Rattlesnake bit her finger she allways had a crooked finger. My mothers first husband was name Thomas Broughton thay had 2 children thay taken up a Homestead West of Eugini on the Coyette Creek near a Rattle snake denn thay lived in a log cabbin I have heard the old log cabbin still stands their yet it some where near Crow My father was born Feb 24th 1820 I believe in New jersey use to live in Ohio came to Oregon when Portland was a very small town then moved to Corvallis where he and Mother was Married thay had 10 children Born to them 7 gurls and 3 Boys I am the youngest and the only one living. Yes I had one Brother in the army till he was penshiond off I believe he was living a Bremington Wash. whe passed away Yes he had a Military Funeral his Name was Charles Dennis.
