Manuel passed away peacefully on December 7, 2007. He is survived by his loving family, wife of 53 years Domitila; his children, Frank, Manuel, Daniel, Jesse, Robert, Tony and Susana Avila-Lopez, and their families. He was the loving grandfather of 15 grandchildren. Manuel had a great compassion for life, he faced each day with courage and strength regardless of his limitations. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and admired him. Viewing today, Dec. 11, 4-7 p.m.; rosary, 7-8 p.m., at Connolly & Taylor Mortuary, 400 Alhambra Ave., Martinez. Services, Wed., Dec. 12, 10 a.m., St. Catherine's Church, 1125 Ferry St., Martinez. Burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Lafayette.
