Mrs. Absher was a seamstress. She was born the daughter of Dirk and Pauline Kaurau Balk. Her husband, Charles O. Absher, whom she married May 30, 1937, in Marion, died in 1982. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching TV game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Mary Absher of Clifton, John and Vanessa Absher of Bradley; two daughters and one son-in-law, JoAnn Lippold of Bourbonnais, Betty and Jerry Beland of Peoria, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are one daughter, Carol Glassford; one son-in-law, Larry Lippold; three grandsons, Richard Absher, Tim and Tommy Glassford; four brothers, Eric, Harry, Louis, and Edwin Balk; and one sister, Anna Yonke.
