She was born in Henrietta, daughter of Harry Z. and Nancy Ella (Benner) Weyant. She married Charles Beard Dec. 7, 1936, in Cumberland, Md. He died Feb. 11, 1989.
Surviving are three daughters: Karen Machart of Roaring Spring, Linda Kinsey of Osterburg and Shirley Snyder of Duncansville; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Clapper of Hollidaysburg.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Cruse, in February 2001; and a son, Robert, in December 2006.
She was a member of Foot of Ten Bible Church.
Mrs. Beard had been employed as a cook at the Chuck Wagon Restaurant.
She enjoyed cooking and baking.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg (www.pssfh.com). A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home by Pastor Lynn Johnston. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
