The birthdate on Catherine's stone differs one year and one day from her German civil birth record. The birth could very well have been remembered as having happened on the night of the 9th rather than the wee hours of the 10th. She died young, and the stone appears to have been set years after her burial. The other stones of that time in the cemetery are soft marble rather than granite.

Catherine's full name from her Much, Germany civil birth record is "Anna Catharina Trompetter." She was born in Gibbinghausen on the 10th of September 1845 at 4:00 am. Her parents were Henry and Anna Maria Oster (or Osten) Trompetter. (Trompeter is often found spelled with two "t"s in early records.) Her obituary says that she and Robert Dorei were married at a young age in Germany, but she is in the 1860 census with her parents in Peru, Illinois at the age of 14. No marriage records have been found as of 2013. Catherine had ten children. Her youngest, Oda was 4 months and 4 days old when Catherine died. Catherine died 3 days shy of her 38th birthday.
