C. C. Abbott, formerly a prominent merchant of Holton died at Coffeeville, Kansas, Tuesday of this week. His remains will be brought to this city for burial today ... His children, Rev. Clarence Abbott, Mrs. May Lynde and Miss Lena Abbott are expected to attend the funeral.

Chandler C. Abbott was born Feb. 24, 1853, in Abbott's Comer, Canada. He grew to manhood there and was married to Miss Flora M. Whitman in 1874. They came to Kansas in 1878 and founded the town of Goff. He was in business there for twelve years, after which he moved to Holton and was a prominent merchant here until 1901, when he moved to Kansas City. He was in the wholesale business in that place until 1908, when he was stricken with paralysis. Since then he has failed in health until he died Oct. 3. He was at the time of his death 58 years, 7 months and 10 days old. He leaves to mourn his loss one son, two daughters and a brother. Mr. Abbott made a profession of faith in Christ in early manhood and untied with the Baptist church. Five years ago he changed his membership to the Methodist church .... buried in the Holton cemetery.
