Daughter of Walter & Myrtle (Applegarth) Coakley.
Married to Boyd Bell on 4-13-1951 at Lexington, NE. He died 10-24-1969.
She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Kearney State College and a Master's Degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She taught elementary education in Arcadia and Grand Island before moving to O'Neill. She taught at the O'Neill Public High School and the Title One Math Program for many years.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son, Bob Schmitz of Lincoln; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Schmitz of Lincoln; a sister, Cleo Sawyer of Inman; and a brother, Dale Coakley of Kearney.
Additional survivors include two grandchildren, Renee Schmitz of Denver and Richard Schmitz of Omaha, and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, several sisters and brothers.
