Mason James Brooks, 3 months and 16 days, died in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 23, 2008 at OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac Illinois.

Mason sadly became another untimely casualty of SIDS. SIDS, sudden infant death syndrome, is the leading cause of death among infants 1 month to 1 year old, and claims the lives of about 2,500 each year in the United States. It remains unpredictable despite years of research.

Mason was born May 7, 2008, in Pontiac, a son of Justin and Samantha Brooks.

Mason has one brother, Zachary Ryan, and two sisters, Kayden Danielle, and Madissyn Kay, his twin.

He has a new baby sister Arianna, who was born 12 months and 2 days after his death.

Mason is my nephew. He blessed many people with his beautiful smile, charming little personality, and all around happy disposition in his short life. I was lucky to be a part of it. Only the good die young, he was too precious to know the trials and tribulations of this earth. He is still with us everyday, and we all know it. Every time we've sent balloons up to him, they make it through all of the many trees he rests under, and float up until they disappear. I find that more than a coincidence. Mason you are loved dearly, and will live forever in our hearts.

Here's a couple videos I put together for Mason.
