Roy was the son of George Henry Farrington Chloe Delta Marshall Farrington. He married Virginia James and had three daughters (Donna, Marlys, Lois) and one son Bruce. He was born in Knox City Texas, where much of his grandmother's family resided. His grandmother and mother fled the flu epidemic in Knox City Texas of 1918 by train up to Washington State. His mother shared stories of how people were dying on the train from the flu and she was traveling with an infant in a desperate effort to move away from the epidemic. Roy was a fighter pilot in WWII and was a risk-taker and adventurer. He died in Gig Harbor Washington after a long illness.
