The daughter of Missouri natives David Crockett Reed and Elizabeth Catherine Stover Reed, Fannie had three brothers and five step siblings.
She married Robert Glover Peaden February 9,1897 in Denton County, Texas, the county of her birth. She and Robert had three girls while they lived there: Selena, Margaret Drucilla, and Emily Eliza. By 1906 the couple had relocated to Palo Pinto County where sons David "Jack" and Billy Kenneth were born.
In 1938, when daughter Emily died after giving birth to her fourth child, Fannie Mae, took in her newborn grandson, Billy Jack, and raised him with daughter Druce's assistance.
Widowed in 1942, Fannie lived another 20 years in Palo Pinto County.
