Daughter of Claud N. and Annie Bradley Brock, Willie married Ernest M. Guthery on May 11, 1945. When he came home from the war, Ernest had a taxi take him to Claude Brock's house on Shady Grove Mountain. Willie was washing clothes over a fire in the front yard. They went to Cullman and got married. They lived in Gadsden, Alabama where I was born, for several years. Ernest reenlisted for the Korean War. Deborah was born in Cullman and Kathy in south Alabama while Ernest was stationed at Fort Rucker. They lived in Akron, Ohio for 6 years in the 1950s but spent the rest of their lives in Alabama.
