Conseula Faris
Conseula (Connie) Faris, daughter of Reno and Mary (Parker) Kaufman, was born August 17, 1895 in Wayne County, Iowa. She passed away February 6, 1993 at the St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital, Centerville, Iowa at the age of 97 years, 3 months and 19 days.
Connie lived her whole life on the farm, serving many a threshing crew. She loved nature and because she was an artist, she painted many nature scenes in watercolor. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a multi-talented person—she loved to write poetry and was a very accomplished musician—playing the 5 string banjo monthly at the Community Center Music Club. Connie was a member of the Seymour United Methodist Church.
Connie was united in marriage to Sylvester Faris and to this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Harold, in infancy and Howard Faris.
She is survived by her daughter, Willa and husband, Farris Wade, of Seymour; daughter-in-law, Velma Faris of Centerville; four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 9, 1993 at 2 p.m. from Randolph Funeral Home in Seymour with Rev. Susen LeBlanc officiating. The hymns “In The Garden” and “Beyond The Sunset” were sung by Milton Albertson, accompanied by Bernace Kerwin, pianist. Pallbearers were David Faris, Charles Faris, Gary Wade, Tommy Brown, Max Rash and Bernard Young. Interment was in the Southlawn Cemetery, Seymour, Iowa.
A memorial was established either to the Seymour United Methodist Church or Seymour Care Center.
