Mrs. Annie C. Potter, aged 73 years, widow of John Potter, died on Saturday at the residence of her son in-law, Allen Asper, in Juniata township. Death was due to heart failure, super induced by la grippe. Mrs. Potter was a daughter of Jacob and Anna Elizabeth Bretz, late of Buffalo Township, who died March 17, 1885, and August 8, 1859, respectively. She was born at Carlisle, Cumberland county, Pa., March 8, 1827. Her great grandfather came to this country on the ship Royal Union, Captain Clement Nicholson, landing in Philadelphia August 15, 1750 and settled in Lykens Valley, five miles northeast of Millersburg, Dauphin County, (It's a little farther than that. BC) She was married to John Potter December 17, 1850, by Rev. David Grubb. The fruit of this union was three sons and three daughters, all of whom are living, as follows; Mrs. S.W. Hain, of Nealmont, Blair County; Mrs. Allen Asper, Mrs. J.L. Gunderman of Harrisburg; J.L. Potter, of Buck's Valley. W.W. Potter and S.A. Potter of Bailysburg. She is survived by 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister. Mrs. Jacob Matson of Philadelphia. Her husband died December 19, 1897. She was a cousin of Mrs. J.W. Frank and M.T. Bretz, of this place. She was a member of the United Brethren church about 10 years. The funeral took place Tuesday morning. Brief services were held the home of Mr. Asper at 10 o'clock, ater which the body was taken to *Center Union cemetery, Buck's Valley, for interment. Funeral services were conducted in Center Union church by Rev. C.C. Bingham.

*Center Union Cemetery is an old and small cemetery on off Rt. 34 east in Buck's Valley, There's only about 50 - 75 interments in the cemetery.
