Jacob's first wife was Frances "Fannie" Strayer with whom he had at least three children including: Sarah (Strayer) Mumford, Frances (Strayer) Ross and Elizabeth (Strayer) Cochran. Fannie died in 1832. Jacob's second wife was Catherine (Ralya) Strayer (1806-1851) who he married in 1833. He had at least seven children with Catherine including: Rebecca (Strayer) Holman, Rachel E.(Strayer) Crist, Amanda Strayer, Ahab Keller Strayer, Lorenzo Dow Strayer, Henrietta (Strayer) Brooks and Esther Maria (Strayer) Clark. Jacob's third wife was Jemima (Daniels) Haskins Strayer (1817-1887) with whom he had at least four children including: Dr. Jacob P. Strayer, Abraham Daniels Strayer, Christiana (Strayer) Canfield and Gearhart Thompson Strayer.
