He married Irene B. Dezell May 26, 1940, at the Town Line United Presbyterian Manse, Pine Grove-Chipman Road, with the late Rev. W.J. Nevin officiating.
The couple operated a dairy farm on the Pine Grove-Chipman Road since 1947. They had been semi-retired since 1978.
Mr. Armstrong was also town of Lisbon assessor from 1955 to 1959.
He was a member and former trustee of Nevin Memorial Church and a member of Waddington Masonic Lodge 393.
