Another Pioneer Gone.
Henry Adams, a prominent citizen of Morgan County, died at his home two miles north of Morgantown on the 26th of last month at the advanced age of 86 years one month and 24 days. The funeral services were held on the 27th ult. [last month] at Bethlehem church and was largely attended. The funeral services were conducted by Elder E. D. Herod in his usual impressive manner.
Henry Adams was born in Henry County, Kentucky, February 2, 1804. He was married to Amy Kephart June 26th 1828, and immigrated to Morgan County, Ind., in 1828. There were six children born to them, four boys and two girls, three of which are now living. Amy Adams, his first wife, died in September 1842. He was married to Nancy Sleeser March 28, 1843, and eight children were born to them, four boys and four girls who are all present.

MORGANTOWN - Henry Adams, the oldest man in this part of the country died on the 26 of last month at the age of 86 years. Mr. Adams came to Indiana in 1827 and entered the land east of town where he lived up to his death. Mr. Adams was a lifelong democrat, and the first vote he ever cast for president was for Andrew Jackson. He was born the 2nd of February, 1804, and was the father of 14 children, of which three are dead. He was never united to any church although he believed in the supreme ruler of the universe, and always lived an upright and honest life. He was married twice, 2 children by his first wife and 12 by his last. The people in this neighborhood will miss the old landmark that has been erased from their memory. The funeral took place on the 27th ult. [last month] at the Bethlehem church two and a half miles east of town. The attendance was very large, and the funeral services were preached by Elder E. D. Herod.
