George Washington Boatman was born 28 Feb 1879 Olden, Howell Co. Mo. to Henry Boatman and Mahala Wood.. He married Julia Ann Barton 4 Sep 1901 in Olden, Howell Co. Mo. They moved to Webb, Dewey Co. Ok. in 1905 at the same time that his father and oldest sister moved westward. About 1927 George moved his family to the Alamosa-San Louis-Fort Garland Co. area where he farmed and also worked at a refinery in Alamosa..Sometime after 1936 they moved to California..George had a stroke when entering the house and fell against the door which resulted in a cerebral hemorrhage causing his death on 1 Aug. 1948..He is buried in Escalon, Ca. Surviving members of family include:
Julia Ann Boatman wife, Children Laura Easter Boatman,James H. Boatman, Delphia Mae Boatman,Kenneth M. Boatman, Lois Martha Boatman...Those who preceded him in death, daughters Ellen Boatman, Elmus Boatman and a infant son...
