Ms. Bennett died Monday, March 6, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born June 7, 1943, in Lawrence County to Johnny and Rosie Bankston Burden. She was a convenience store clerk.
She is survived by one son, Cedric E. Bennett of Decatur; one daughter, Nina Bennett of Trinity; her mother; seven sisters, Bertha Fagan of Weirsdale, Fla, Betty Legg and Bonnie Pullen, both of Moulton, Linda Merriman of Judsonia, Ark, Christine Montgomery of Muscle Shoals, Clista Gurley and Diane Vinson, both of Tupelo, Miss; and three grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
