Mr. Daniel, formerly of Milledgeville and Dublin, was the son of the late Albert Keel and Bernice Chance Daniel. He was a native Milledgeville, and had lived in Dublin and Mt. Union, PA for the last several years.
He was retired from the U.S. Army and was attached to the Georgia National Guard as supervisor of the recruiter supervisor in the South East Region.
Mr. Daniel was a former administrator of the Jones Hospital at Central State Hospital. He loved to fish and garden. As a young man growing up in Milledgeville, flying and boxing were his passion. He valued his education from Midway, GMC and Georgia State University where he earned a degree in hospital business administration. He truly used his knowledge to help all he encountered.
His work history was varied and he retired several times. You may have known him from his teenage years working and flying at the Milledgeville airport, from his many years in military service, as a hospital or nursing home administrator, a borough manager or a political strategist.
He loved his family and taught us about commitment and unconditional love.
September 2008 would have been his 50th wedding anniversary. Mama (Mildred) was his righthand girl and the love of his life. She was by his side Friday as she had been through their entire marriage. He instilled upon us a strong work ethic, but also humility. He opened our home to many that he loved through the years and further enriched our lives. His children and Bordeaux were his pride and joy. He loved freely, and even if he did not like you, he still loved you. Most important of all, he loved the Lord and on Friday, he went home to be with him.
He was a member of Cedar Crest Independant Baptist Church in Mt. Union PA, and an honorary member of new Bethel Baptist Church in Dublin. He loved his church families, and your prayers and cards meant so much to him in his time of illiness.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Hetrick Daniel of Mount Union PA.,and Dublin; daughter , Melinda (Benny Howard) Screws of Dublin; son, Bruce (Shari) Daniel of Eatonton; sister Jane Daniel Brookins of Sandersville; brothers, Hugh Daniel of Tucker and Gerald Daniel of Macon; a grandson, Ben Screws of Dublin.
The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5 until 7.
