Allen Joseph Legere, Sr., age 61, of Saucier passed away Thursday, August 14, 2008 in Biloxi. Mr. Legere served his country in the United States Army after 23 years, including two tours in Vietnam. He worked for the Gulfport Police Department for 12 years before retiring as Administrative Secretary to Chief Alan Weatherford. He was preceded in death by his first wife Marie Legere; and his parents Lovis Christine Ashworth and Hypolite Legere; and his uncle Anatole Cormier. Survivors include his wife Victoria Legere of Saucier; his step-mother Martha"Teet" Legere and his aunt Constance "Nanny" Cormier; his children, Allen Legere, Jr., Lanissa Legere, Lovis Buckheister, David Buckheister, Chris Buckheister, Philip Buckheister, and Amber Jacoby and their spouses; his siblings, Linda Tomchek, Patricia Martin, and James "Red" Legere. Mr. Legere loved his grandchildren Lani, Dylan, Hunter, Maddy, Abby, Taylor, Abigail, Brennan, John Lewis, and Amber Lynn. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2008, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport.
