Verlene B. Anderson, age 85 of Holladay, Utah died on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at her home.


She was born March 9, 1923 in Magna, Utah, the daughter of Elmer B Beckstead and Ida Goosman Beckstead. She graduated from Syprus High School. Verlene married Ivan J. Anderson in 1942. They had five sons, Ivan "Butch" Jr. Anderson, Don Anderson, Lynn Anderson, Scott Anderson and Jerry Anderson. Verlene was a bookkeeper for Ivan J. Anderson Construction Company. She had a beautiful voice and took singing lessons for years. She loved sewing and reading, to travel with her family.


Verlene is survived by her husband, Ivan, her sons and her sister, Jane Elmer and brother, Dell Beckstead. Preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Leah and June.


Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 12:00 noon in the Olympus 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 4100 South Camille Street. The Family will meet with Friends from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the Olympus 3rd LDS Ward Chapel.
Interment will be in the South Jordan City Cemetery.
