William Hester, died at his home in West Hemlock township, Montour county, at 3:10 o'clock Monday morning. Death was due to a complication of diseases. He was aged 67 years.
He was a veteran of the Civil war being a member of Company D, 202nd regiment. He was a member of Goodrich Post No. 22, G.A.R., of Danville.
He was a widower, his wife, preceding him to the grave, eighteen months ago. He is survived by one son and four daughters: Reuben Hester, of Sunbury; Mrs. Jacob Umstead, West Hemlock township; Mrs. Harvey Shultz, Derry township, and Miss Rose and Miss Alice Hester, who reside at the parental home.
The funeral will be held Thursday, meeting at the house at 10 a.m. Interment will be made in the cemetery at Swendoa.
