SERVICES HELD SUNDAY FOR ERNEST H. ARP
Funeral services for Ernest H. Arp, 73 of Indian Grove, farmer, were held Sept. 10 at the Zion Methodist Church. Mr. Arp died Sept. 8 at St. Francis Hospital in Marceline.
Born Sept. 15, 1893 in Chariton County, he was the son of William and Wieblee (Kimm) Arp. He attended public schools in this community and spent his entire life in the Indian Grove community. He was a veteran of WWI, a charter member of the Rucker-McAllister Post No. 7, American Legion, and a member of the Zion Methodist Church.
On Dec. 23, 1929, he was married to Mrs. Avis Mason, who survives.
Other survivors are a son and daughter, Donald Arp of Brunswick, and Mrs. Jeannine Stutsman of Ashville, North Carolina; a step-son, Eugene Mason of Springfield, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. Freda Henning of Brunswick; and eight grandchildren.
Military graveside services were conducted by the Rucker-McAllister Post No. 7 at the Elliott Grove Cemetery. McCurry Funeral Home was in charge.
