Moses Harrison Beeson 1860-1932

Moses Harrison Beeson was born December 17, 1860 in Des Moines, Iowa to Ellis Beeson and Mary G. (Hunt) Beeson.

He had two full siblings; Benjamin Irwin Beeson and Delilah Jane (Beeson) Irwin.

Moses' father passed away when he was four years old and his mother married James Alexander Pickard.

Moses had seven additional half-siblings; Delbert Ellsworth Pickard, Ora Ette Pickard, Permelia Emily Pickard, Georgia Barbara (Pickard) Cochran, Charles Grant Pickard, David Weaver Pickard and William Pearl Pickard.

Moses married Julia Ann Baldwin on August 14, 1893 in Wallowa, Oregon. He made his first home on Swamp Creek in Wallowa county, Oregon, where he was involved with Aaron Wade in the sheep raising business.

They became the parents to five children; Harry Corbin Beeson, Mary Jane (Beeson) Barnes, Thomas Ellis Beeson, James Irvin Beeson, Sarah Bessie May (Beeson) Marquis.

In 1895, Moses and his family made a trip back to Missouri in a covered wagon and from there they returned to Colfax, Washington where they lived for six years. They returned to Wallowa county and lived many years around Enterprise and Joseph and about 1924 they moved to La Grande, Oregon and purchased a home in May Park.

Moses passed away February 2, 1938 in La Grande, Oregon and was buried in the Island City Cemetery, in Island City, Oregon.
