HARRIET AUGUSTA AKERS
Harriet Augusta Akers, 82, Island City, died Friday at Grande Ronde Hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Akers was born August 9, 1893, in New York. She and her husband, Jesse, who survives, moved to Island City from Salem four years ago. They were married May 15, 1927, in Pasadena, Calif. In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Alice Baker, La Grande, and Mildred Cannon, Muskegon, Mich.; a sister, Dora Hunor of New Jersey: and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John Fredrick Akers, and a daughter, Cora Frances Bell. The Rev. Willis Baker will officiate at the services. Burial will be at the Island City Cemetery.
