Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Mr Butcher was the son of George and Effie L Turbett Butcher. Prior to his retirement he was a Corporation officer for the Studebaker and Worthington Corp. Mr Butcher was a member of Church of Christ Scientist in Asbury Park, NJ.
Surviving are his wife, Lucia G; one son, Robert L of Pleasant Plains; two daughters, Mrs DL Hardingham of Plainfield NJ and Mrs John Saysr of Newtown Square, PA and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30pm Wednesday at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel with GB Krueger, reader officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
