Was Wednesday
One of the fast dwindling band
of pioneers, Tuck Bea, passed away
at his home here Sunday night
from injuries which he had sustained
in a fall a week before.
Bea was 84 years of age, but despite
his advanaced age was quite active, until
the past few weeks of bad weather, he was
a familiar figure on the city streets, walking
from his home to town almost every day.
He a regular attendant at the annual Old
Timers Reunion and Picnic. One year he was
awarded the prize as the person over 75
coming fartherest to attend the meeting. At
that time he was making his home whith a
daughter in Stark City, Mo.
Shortly afterwards he returned to Chelsea
and has since resided here, making his
home with another daughter. He came to this
section more than fifty years ago, first
settling at Nowata.
Surviving him is a son William J. Bea,
Downey Calif.; and four daughters,
Mrs Beulah Pace, of Alluwo, Mrs Odessa
Raymond, of Barnsdall, and Mrs. Alpha
Judd, Chelsea; a brother and sister.
Funeral services were held Wednesday
afternoon from the Epworth Methodist Church,
with the Rev. Mr. Conrad of Barnsdall officiating.
Interment was in Chelses cemetery under direction
of the R. W, Benjamin Funeral Home.
