Race car driver. His father, Troy Ruttman Sr., at age 21 was the youngest driver ever to win the Indianapolis 500 in 1952. Troy Jr., though, was killed in a tragic accident at Long Pond, PA during a Super Modified race at the Pocono Speedway. He was only 18 and was participating in his first race. He was driving a converted Indianapolis roadster that his father had driven in the 1962 Indianapolis 500. According to reports, on the 65th lap of a 100 mile race, the throttle of his car stuck and went through a guard rail, a chain link fence and another guardrail, passed underneath the grandstand, and rolled over. Troy suffered a fatal skull fracture.Original Interment Site. At some point his remains were moved to Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, Califmornia.
