R.E. "Gene" Oller
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at the Ayres-Calbeck Chapel for R. E. "Gene" Oller, 82, retired Preston farmer and horse trade. He died at 11 a.m., Monday in the Kingman Community Hospital. The Rev. Henry C. Dutcher of Cunningham will officiate at the service with burial in the Cunningham Maud Cemetery. Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Russell was one of eight children born to Samuel Oller and Amanda Hodge Oller. A life long resident of the area, he was born in Cunningham April 7, 1890. He married Bessie Pearl Marteney May 18, 1910 in Pratt. She died September 28, 1943. On June 2, 1944 he was married to Clara Jarboe in Wichita, who survives him. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Other survivors are sons, Sam, Hutchinson; Raymond, Baytown, Texas; Daniel, Garden City; Melvin, Cunningham; George, Luas; Harold, Partridge; Robert, Marion; Jerry, Partridge; Robert, Marion; Jerry, Partridge; daughters Mrs. Velma Yarberry and Mrs. Gladys Krug, Cunningham; Mrs. Gertrude Wehling, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Lynette Chick, Partridge; Mrs. Ellen Jean Vernard, Pratt; stepson Jack Jarboe, Greeley, Colo.; stepdaughters Mrs. Mary Ann Keilman, Grand Junction, Colo., and Mrs. Sue Venard, Meade. There are 58 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren. A son, Fay and a daughter Vine Lucine Oller preceded him in death.
The family has established a memorial in his name with the Heart Fund.
