James Clair Cunningham, 76, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998 following a long and courageous battle. James was born in American Fork, June 21, 1922 to Ross and Lila Haslam Cunningham.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Blanche Gray Cunningham, and three sons: James W. (Peggy) Cunningham, Lehi; Robert G. (Carol) Cunningham, Gilbert, Arizona; Alan B. Cunningham, American Fork; eight grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren; and four sisters.
James was a World War II Air Force Veteran. He flew several missions between India and China in the famous B29 Superfortress. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 25 years as a carrier.
He and his wife also served together as Temple Workers for several years in the Salt Lake and Provo Temples.

Funeral Services will be Friday, 11 a.m. in the American Fork 4th Ward, 455 E. 300 North. Friends may call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 North, American Fork, Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the Church one hour prior to services. Burial, American Fork Cemetery. Military Rites by VFW, District IV.
