Dena graduated from Claremore High School and continued her education at Kansas City School of Dentistry to become a Dental Hygienist. On February 1, 1934 in Tulsa, Dena married George Raymond Bassmann. Raymond and Dena made their home in Claremore where Raymond practiced law for over 60 years. Dena was an active member of the First Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship and was a group leader. She was a 50-year member and past President of PEO Chapter BM and Tuesday Study Club.
Dena is survived by two daughters and one brother.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 61 years, Raymond; parents, John Weaver and Martha Helen Green; brother, Dr. John Wilbur Green; niece, Barbara Sloan; nephews, Dr. John Wilbur Green, Jr. and James Warren Green; and great-niece, Nancy Walker.
