She was born June 3, 1899, at Montgomery Ridge, near Anatone, to Ringold ( Major) and Kathryn (McMillan) Stone.
She moved with her family to Asotin, where she graduated from high school in 1918.
She then graduated from Kinman Business College at Spokane and later worked for a time at the state bank in Pullman.
She married Clarence Brumpton at Walla Walla in 1924. He died Oct. 4.
After their marriage, the couple moved to Clarkston, where she worked at the Asotin County Clerk's office until 1935. The family then moved to Yakima.
In 1950, they returned to Clarkston, and she again worked at the county clerk's office.
She later ran for and won the Asotin County clerk position, and retired after two years.
She was a member of the Democratic Party, First Christian Church of Clarkston, and was a 50-year Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge at Asotin.
She also was a past president of the Needle Craft Club.
She enjoyed flower gardening, keeping a diary, and taking long walks.
Survivors include a son, Don Brumpton of Clarkston, and a sister, Esther Anderson of Asotin.
Two brothers, Jake and Cress Stone, and five sisters, Myrtle Hostetler, Iva McGee, Winnie Talbott, Violet Stone, and Aclelia Jones, died previously.
A joint funeral service was held for her and her husband Monday at Merchant Funeral Home in Clarkston.
