Freda Fasig, 80, of Martinsville died Friday, October 9, 1998 at the Burnside Nursing Home in Marshall.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 12 at Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville, with the Rev. George Nika officiating. Burial was int he Ridgelawn Cemetery in Martinsville. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m on Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born May 17, 1918 in Casey Township, Clark County, the daughter of Chauncey and Lucinda (Hills) Pearce. She married Paul Fasig on July 23, 1938 and he survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Gary Fasig and his wife Dee of Robinson and Richard Fasig of Bloomington; a sister, Mrs. Fenton (Billie) Kelley of Tiffin, Ohio; four grandchildren and four great-grand-children.

She was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Rodney Waldrop and two sisters, Marjorie Atkins and Maxine Henley.

Mrs. Fasig had worked for several businesses in Villa Grove. She was a member of the Friendship Club and the Villa grove Pinochle Club.

The family request memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
