Anne M. McCarthy, 68, born in Johnstown, PA on April 7, 1940 to James and Marian (Raymond) McGettigan. Anne entered into rest in Alamo on April 28, 2008. Anne graduated in 1962 from Rosemont College with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She worked for many years in the medical community in office administration. Anne was a member of St. John Vianney Church Community and volunteered at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. Anne's past involvements were with the Jasmine Auxiliary at Children's Hospital of Oakland where she served as Chair person; was active at Northgate High School and for many years sung in the choir at St. Francis of Assisi. Anne also enjoyed playing bridge, golf and a good Lifetime movie. Anne is survived by her husband of 44 years, Donald J. McCarthy; children, Lisa Yates (William), Karen MacDonald (Paul), Brian McCarthy and Joanne Jordan (Michael); siblings, James McGettigan, Marian Sweeney, William McGettigan, Walter McGettigan, Robert McGettigan and Joseph McGettigan; Grandmother of Connor and Drake MacDonald and Madison Yates. Visitation will be Friday, May 2, 2008 beginning at 9:30AM at St. John Vianney Church, 1650 Ygnacio Valley Road, Walnut Creek, CA where the Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery , Lafayette, CA.
