He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joan Barron Coggins; two daughters, Gwinda (Ronald) Robinson of Hueytown and Connie (Michael) Rogers of Graysville; his father, Grover Coggin of Pleasant Grove; one sister, Becky (Ed) Thompson of Marietta, Ga. and one brother A.D. (Becky) Coggins of Minor. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Danielle and Tabitha Robins and Matthew Rogers.
He was a member of New Temple Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and was employed with HUD for 29 1/2 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ora Liner Coggin.
