Milton W. Huffman, 89, of Wheelersburg, died Sunday, Sept 9, 2007, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

He was born July 8, 1918, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Charles Melvin and Lillian Mae Dresbach Huffman.

He was a 50 year member of First Christian Church, serving as a deacon for many years and was named deacon emeritus, and a member of Christian Men's Fellowship. He also was a retired employee from Williams Manufacturing Co.

He was an Army WWII veteran, having served in Rhineland and central Europe. He was awarded the WWII victory Medal, the African and Middle Eastern Service Medal.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillian B. Dietrich Huffman of Wheelersburg; two sons, Wayne (Wilna) Huffman of Wheelersburg, and Mark (Ann) Huffman of Wheelersburg, one daughter, Kathy (Joe) Sisler, of Wheelersburg; eight grandchildren, Tim, Amy, Heather, Bethany, Kristi, Matthew, Kellie, and Aaron; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Bailey, Brianna, Alexis, Kayla, Kali and Jacob; two brothers, Clyde Huffman of Portsmouth, and Charles Huffman of Springfield, Ohio; two sisters, Joyce (Jack) Rickman of Sumter, SC, and Miriam Huffman of Sumter, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Orin Huffman and Reginald Huffman; and one sister, Roberta Huffman.

Services are to be conducted at First Christian Church in Portsmouth Wednesday, Sept 12 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Galen Hahn officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Daehler's in Portsmouth and Wednesday one hour before the service at the chruch.

Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Honor Detail of James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Memorial Fund at First Christian Church, The MS Foundation or The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
