Carmon Alexander, 68, died Friday at 8:45 p. m. at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. He was a veteran of World War I.

The funeral was at Bender's Monday with burial in the Lenox Cemetery. He leaves his widow, Bernice, and a brother, Ernest of Kansas City.

Carmon E. Alexander, son of Jack and Sarah Winslow Alexander, was born May 1, 1898 in Adams County, and lived at the Alexander homestead in Mercer township. He passed away Feb. 19 at the Des Moines V A Hospital at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 18 days. He was united in marriage Apr 9, 1938 to Berniece Miller at Clarinda.

He attended the Mercer Center Methodist Church when a young man. He served his country during World War I.

He is survived by his wife Berniece, one brother Ernie and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Mr Alexander had a pleasant disposition, always enjoyed visiting with people and will be sadly missed by his family and a host of friends.
