A U.S. Navy pilot, WW II, Korean War veteran, he flew with the Naval Air Transport Service in the U.S., Africa, and Pacific Theater. Raised in Philadelphia, PA, he graduated from the Northeast High School and attended the Drexel University. He was a commercial pilot for Capitol Airlines, National Airport, Washington, D.C.; and agent for the FBI. In 1952, he and his wife, Carolyn, moved to Aiken where he went to work for the E.I. duPont de Nemours & Co. He retired in 1982. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn E. Bardi, in April 1981. She was born June 24, 1921, and was a U.S. Naval Flight Stewardess. He was also predeceased by his parents, Arnaldo & Santi Cinalli Bardi; brothers, Pasco and Peter Bardi.
Surviving are his sons, Michael P. Bardi, Aiken, SC and Dr. Christopher T. Bardi, Florence, SC; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild, an uncle and two aunts in Philadelphia, PA.
Interment followed Mass of Christian Burial conducted at the St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken, SC, Tuesday, July 17, 2007.
