OBIT: Mrs. W. C. Jones Dead
The death of Rebecca F. Jones on Sunday morning last is one of the saddest that has occurred in our midst in some time. Mrs. Jones had not been strong for some time. About a month ago a child was born to them. Two weeks ago their five year old son died with diabetes and this loss, together with an attack of the measles, caused her death at 9 o'clock Sunday morning. Less than 18 months ago they lost a son of typhoid fever. The funeral was held at the residence at 2pm Tuesday afternoon, Rev. McCulloch of the M. E. church preaching the funeral sermon. The Women of Woodcraft, of which she was a member held apppropriate exercises at the cemetry using the beautiful burial services of that order. A large and sympathetic crowd of friends were present. She leaves a husband and three children to moarn her demise.
Rebecca F. Thoroughman was born June 12 1865 in Bates county Missouri. She was married to Mr. W. C. Jones in Gunnison, Colo. January 30 1893. They came to Castle Rock and have resided here since that time.
The many friends of Mr. Jones extend to him in his double sorrow their most heartfelt sympathy in this his hour of grief.
CARD OF THANKS: W. C. Jones desires to sincerely thank those kind friends and neighbors for their sympathy and assistance in his bitter trial and distress.

Note: census records show that Rebecca's nieces, Mertie and Jessie Mickelberry, moved to Colorado to help care for Rebecca's motherless children. Mertie and Jessie's mother, Hulda Thoroughman Mickelberry, died abt two years before Rebecca.

Note: Tombstone reads: "Erected by the Women of Woodcraft".
