Greenlee Steele was the son of Nenian Trimble Steele and Martha Jane Harris Steele. He married Barbara Rousch on March 19, 1882, in Hutsonville, Crawford, Illinois. Of this union, one daughter, Genevieve Steele was born. Barbara died on December 3, 1885. Greenlee then married Lucy Ellen Swain on July 28, 1887, in Crawford County, Illinois. Two children were born to this marriage, Mary Delia Steele and Raymond Greenlee Steele.

Greenlee Steele Dies At Hutsonville Monday

Greenlee Steele, 81 years of age, died at his home in Hutsonville Monday morning at 11 o'clock following an illness of heart trouble and complications. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. David Stewart of Anderson, IN, and Mrs Donald Anderson of Palestine; and one son, Raymond, of Hutsonville. Funeral services were conducted at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the Rev. E. W. Fox officiating. Burial was made in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
