Joseph Binetti

Well known for his sense of humor and passion for helping everyone, Joseph Binetti passed away on July 11, 2008. He was 72 years old. Born in CleElum, Washington on November 28, 1935 to Joseph and Rosa Binetti, Joe grew up with his brothers, Mike and John, and his late sister, Frances. Moving with his family in 1952 to Auburn, he finished his senior year at Auburn High School. Joseph received his undergraduate degree from Seattle University, and went on to receive his Masters Degree in Education in 1965. Joe began his notable career with the Auburn School district at Washington Elementary, moving to Pioneer Elementary as a teacher. He became principal at Pioneer Elementary, and then moved to Evergreen Heights. Joe retired in 1994, although he continued to substitute teach. Joe is well known from his years at Camp Auburn, having retired as director in June 2008. Joe's many pastimes included tinkering on cars, working with his sons in law, finding a great bargain, and taking on projects. Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved car trips and spending time outdoors. Joe will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Rosemary, his daughters, Joanne (Michael) Sato, Michelle Binetti (Jeff Petroskie), DeAnn (Ross)West, Cheryl Binetti-Robinson (Chris) and his grandchildren, Justin Binetti, Taylor Pence, Connor Petroskie, Samantha Sato, Matthew Sato, and Ian Robinson. Vigil Service 7 pm Tuesday, July 15, and Mass 11 am Wednesday, July 16 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Auburn. Burial will be 2:30 pm at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, Federal Way. Arrangements by Klontz Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Auburn Communities in Schools for the Joe Binetti Camp Auburn Scholarship Memorial Fund.
